A total of six asphalt plants owned and operated by Vecellio Group companies have now been honored with “Green Diamond” awards for their clean, well-maintained, state-of-the-art facilities.

Known officially as the Diamond Achievement Commend-ation for Excellence in Hot Mix Asphalt Plant/Site Operations, the certifications are bestowed by the National Asphalt Pavement Association.

The Vecellio Group's two newest plants joined the list of recipients in 2005. They are VG Asphalt’s Greensboro, NC, facility (part of Vecellio & Grogan's North Carolina Division) and Ranger Construction -- South’s Miami-Dade, FL, plant.

Four other asphalt facilities earned recertification in 2005. They are Ranger Construction Industries' Winter Garden, Fort Pierce and West Palm Beach plants; and Ranger South’s Pompano Beach plant.  

To qualify, nominees must comply with industry and community regulations, maintain a neat appearance with attractive landscaping and well-kept shops and yards, and emphasize safety and sound environmental practices.
