White Rock Reaches Top
Of The Heap, Quarry Ranked Largest Producer In U.S.
(1st / 2nd Quarter 2007)
White Rock
has cemented its reputation as a high-volume, low-cost producer
of limestone aggregates. Its main quarry, situated along US-27 /
Okeechobee Rd. in Miami-Dade County, FL, has been recognized as
the largest-producing crushed stone location in the United
States.
Serving Florida’s commercial aggregate needs since 1986, White
Rock has grown in both size and capacity over the years. It
recently upgraded to the world’s largest aggregate dragline, a
Marion 8200 with a 105 cu. yd. bucket, capable of yielding 24
million tons per year.
White Rock also operates a South quarry a few miles away near
the city of Doral.
Together, the two locations put White Rock among the Top 25
aggregates companies in the U.S., according to Aggregates
Manager magazine, citing U.S. Geological Survey data.
White Rock Quarries is a division of
Vecellio & Grogan.
