Heavy equipment excavates, hauls and shapes dirt on Vecellio & Grogans site development projects at the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, NC. V&G is filling and leveling a large tract of land for a new FedEx Cargo Hub, realigning nearby Bryan Blvd. to accommodate the hub, rough-grading airport property for a future runway, and expanding a section of apron near the hangars.
VanWinkle Presents 2005 Vecellio Lecture (3rd Quarter 2005)
Hans VanWinkle, director of the Construction Industry Institute (CII), recently presented The Role of Research in Achieving Project Success as part of the Vecellio Distinguished Lecture series at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.
VanWinkle is director of CII, an international consortium with headquarters in Austin, TX, that is working to improve the engineering and construction industries worldwide.
The lecture series is sponsored by an endowment from the Vecellio Family Foundation and individual family members in support of the Vecellio Construction Engineering and Management Program in Virginia Techs Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Several Vecellios have graduated from Virginia Tech, including the late Leo Vecellio, Sr. (1938), Leo Vecellio, Jr. (1968) and Michael Vecellio (2001).
In addition to the lecture series, the Vecellio endowment supports scholarships, fellowships and a full professorship at the school.
